Buckeyes Fall on the Road to Clemson in Big Ten vs. ACC Challenge

The Buckeyes went on the road tonight to take on Clemson in the ACC
vs. Big Ten challenge and came up short by a final score of 80-73.
OSU led by 10 with under three minutes to go in the first half, but
Clemson scored the last nine points of the half to pull to within
one at 36-35 at the intermission.
The Tigers opened the second half with an 8-2 run to take a 45-38
lead. Following a timeout, OSU managed to stop the run and get back
into the game. The Buckeyes actually led by six at 63-57, but Clemson
dominated in the last five minutes of the game to take the win.
Ohio State shot the ball well in the game, shooting 48% from the
field and 60% from three point range, but Clemson's pressure defense
forced 17 OSU turnovers. Clemson outscored OSU 19-4 from the free
throw line and outrebounded the Buckeyes 37-27.
Clemson's dominance inside and free throw shooting advantage were
the difference in the game. For the game, Clemson attempted 26 free
throws, OSU just six. Clemson also collected 13 offensive rebounds
to just five for the Buckeyes.
Clemson forward Sharod Ford registered a double-double with 20 points
and 10 rebounds to lead the Tigers. Olu Babalola added 17 points,
and both Shawan Robinson and Cliff Hammonds contrbuted 14 points each.
OSU's Tony Stockman led all scorers with 22 points. Three other Buckeyes
scored in double figures. Brandon Fuss Cheatham had 14 points, Ivan
Harris 15, all on three pointers, and Terence Dials 11.
