* B.J.Barre DB 6-1 185 4.5 Toledo, Oh. Corner prospect rated 2nd best DB in Ohio by Bill Kurelic. 5 INTs as a junior. Solid academically and should qualify. Rated the top DB in Ohio by PFPO. Left Ohio State with Academic problems. Whereabouts now unknown.
* Terry Pogue RB 6-2 220 4.5 Dayton, Oh.

Rated 2nd best RB in Ohio by Bill Kurelic. Averaged 9.7 yds/carry as junior. Gained over 1300 yards as a junior. 10.9 100 meters. Also plays LB. 2.3 GPA.

* Has left OSU after one year due to academic problems.

John Hollins WR 6-2 190 4.5 Huber Hts., Oh. Rated 2nd best WR in Ohio by Bill Kurelic. Good size and strength for a WR. 2.8 GPA and 20 on ACT. 45 receptions and 11 TDs as a junior.
Alex Stepanovich OL 6-5 275 5.0 Berea, Oh. Two-way starter rated 2nd best OL in Ohio by Bill Kurelic in a great year for linemen. 3.0 GPA. 14 sacks as a junior on defense. Brother is a wrestler at OSU.

* Corey Adams WR 6-2 220 4.46 Stone Mtn. Ga. 21 receptions and 7 tds as a junior in a run oriented offense. 3.1 GPA. Great blend of size and speed. 4 INTs as a DB as a junior.

* Not expected to sign on signing day due to academic problems.

"A lot of the schools in the Southeastern Conference tried to come in on him late. He's a fine young man that we think is going to have a very bright future withthe Buckeyes. He had over 150 tackles and six sacks last year."----OSU head coach John Cooper.

Tranferred from OSU after being moved from linebacker to fullback by the Tressel coaching staff.

Willie Allen DB 6-2 175 4.5 Huber Heights Rangy defensive back with outstanding strength. Good student with 3.5 GPA and 17 on the ACT. Has the speed to play cornerback, but with his height could grow into a monster safety man. Could play any DB position at the next level, depending on how he develops physically.

Extremely athletic prospect that showed a 42" vertical leap at the OSU summer camp. Played quarterback in High School and switched to WR this season as a senior. Has shown big play ability at that position and is an outstanding prospect.

6-1 1/2 228 4.5 Columbus, Oh Abslolute physical specimen that bench presses over 400 pounds. Extremely strong. Could play on either side of the ball in college. Gained almost 300 yards in his first game as a senior. Chose OSU over Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan, Notre Dame, Purdue and Georgia Tech.
Jason Caldwell TE 6-4 265 4.75 Mentor, Oh In only his second year as a football player. Was a track athlete for two years and could have attended other universities on a track scholarship. Opened eyes at the OSU camp when he ran sub 4.8. Very athletic and can catch. Just learning the game and has tremendous upside potential. Still growing and could end up on the offensive line if he gets much bigger. Has great feet.
Josh Huston K 6-2 185   Findlay, Ohio Recruited as a placekicker and not a punter. Considered the top kicking prospect in Ohio this year. Made 15 field goals this season, the longest coming from 43 yards out. 67 of 79 kickoffs were in the endzone for touchbacks. Reliable PAT man.
Brandon "Bam" Childress CB 5-9 185 4.45 Bedford, Ohio Mr. Football in the state of Ohio this year. An exceptional athlete in the mold of Antoine Winfield. Played both ways in high school and caught 40 passes as a receiver. Will be a cornerack and kick returner at OSU. Will also play basketball as a point guard. Averaged 20 pts per game as a basketball player.
Jack Tucker LB 6-1 235 4.75 LaPlama, California Junior College Transfer that will enroll at Ohio State Winter quarter. Will participate in Spring drills and will have three years to play two at OSU. Had 120 tackles, including 61 solos, last season. Originally from California.
Rick McFadden QB 6-7 205   Youngstown, Ohio Passed for over 2200 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. Completed over 60% of his passes. Is a left hander, and is considered by most to be the top quarterback in Ohio this year.
Bobby Britton CB 5-11 175 4.4 Jacksonville, Florida Cover corner that is considered one of the top corner back prospects in the nation this year. Chose OSU over Notre Dame. Was recruited by all th e Florida Schools, but wanted to go out of state to play college football.
* Sam Maldonado RB 6-2 215 4.5 Harrison, New York

Considered to be one of the best big running back prospects in the nation, and one of the best overall. Rushed for 3,000 yards last season. 960 on SAT.

Transferred from OSU due to lack of playing time. Now at Maryland.

Michael Jenkins WR 6-5 200 4.45 Tampa, Florida Considered to be one of the top receiver talents in the state of Florida. Chose Ohio State over Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech.
Shane Olivea OL 6-5 305 5.1 Long Island, New York One of the top offensive line propects not only in the East, but in the nation. Originally commited to Georgia Tech, but changed his mind when the Tech offensive line coach left for Georgia. Decommited from Tech and verballed to the Buckeyes.
Thomas Mathews OLB 6-1 205 4.6 Fort Lauderdale, Florida Had five games of over 15 tackles as a senior. Had been considering Bethune Cookman, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt.
Will Smith OLB/DE 6-4 220 4.55 Utica, New York On of the top DE/OLB prospects in the East. Considered Miami, Boston College, Michigan and Virginia Tech. Has a 2.8 GPA and a 770 on the SAT.
Robert Reynolds ILB 6-4 215 4.6 Bowling Green, Kentucky Considered to be the number one player in the state of Kentucky and one of the top linebacker prospects in the country. A major coup for the Buckeyes. Chose OSU over Michigan, Tennessee, Miami and Virginia.

"Highly recruited football player that almost everybody in the country tried to recruit. He is also a deep snapper."

Marco Cooper ILB 6-2 230 4.6 Detroit, Michigan Regarded one of the top linebacker prospects not only in the Midwest, but in the nation. Is truly and impact type player that could see action his freshman year. Only question is academics. Chose OSU over Tennessee, Minnesota, and others.
* Greg Jones RB 6-1 235 4.5 South Carolina One of the top big back prospects in the country. Rushed for over 1500 yareds as a senior. Has run a 10.8 100 meters in track. Chose OSU over Florida State and others. Genuine Blue-Chipper.

* Signed with Florida State.

Harlan Jacobs DB 6-2 180 4.5 Georgia Chose OSU over LSU. Was a latecomer to the OSU recruiting picture. Was able to sign when Greg Jones opted for Florida State, opening up a spot in this class for Jacobs. Cover corner.
