Football: Devin Smith has made some enormous plays this year as a special team player. Urban Meyer likes that, but would like to see more big plays from him as a wide receiver as well.
Last winter and spring we ran a fund raiser to obtain much-needed transportation for the-Ozone.
We are happy to report that the fund raiser was a success and that we did in fact purchase a vehicle.
We purchased a one-year old Dodge Caravan. It isn't frilly or fancy, but it's safe and reliable.
It's also economical. On our first trip with it (to the NCAA men's basketball tournament site in New Orleans) we got 30 mpg. Gas prices being what they are these days, that's really important to us.
We're a little embarrassed that we didn't do this thank you sooner, so we feel like we owe an explanation.
We purchased the van from a local dealer who we talked to about becoming a sponsor on the-Ozone. Our impression was that he was interested so we held off our announcement so we could promote the dealership at the same time.
As things worked out, they did not take the sponsorship, but it took a long time, very long time, for us to realized that it wasn't going to happen. By then we were into football season, and this announcement just kept falling through the cracks.
Not an excuse, but it is exactly what happened.
In any case, thanks to all of you who participated. You have no idea how much we appreciate it.
